culture

In today’s emerging culture many people could not tell you what purpose the Church serves.  Instead, the sad reality is that many know the Church by what is is against.  The call of the Church is not to flee from our fight culture.  Instead we affirm God’s redemptive purposes for all of creation by engaging ourselves as active participants of cultural transformation.  In doing so, Renovate desires to be known as a positive source of all things good, right, hopeful, and true.

We are passionate about seeing God’s kingdom being seen, just as Jesus prayed, in the here and now (Mt. 6:10).  The result is an on-going redemption, renewal, and renovation of all creation until the day in which all things are restored to God’s original design (Jer. 30).

In practice, we are part of the redeemed culture.  We affirm that God is present everywhere, and that there is nowhere one can go to escape His presence (Ps. 139).  God made all things, and thus all truth belongs to Him.  This means as worshipers of God we must continually point out His presence to others in all situations and setting (Act 17).  We then participate in this world as servants, working along God’s side in the beautification process of His creation; helping shape, lead, and transform it in a God honoring way.
